A good tip for selecting a photographer is to look at pictures they have taken, this can give you a good idea of their creative style and will tell you if you're a good match. Some photographers also offer videography if this is something your interested in make sure you select a company that can meet both of those needs.

Hawaiian Wedding Photography Planner

The number one most important thing is to do your home work on your ceremony, reception, scenic and formal picture taking locations. If you are not from Hawaii, you could go to a bookstore or online, and read up on locations that you might have in mind, and consider other locations as well. It's nice to look at photos, but we recommend that you actually read about locations more in depth, and speak with people who have intimate knowledge of specific locations. This can be difficult, but your hard work will definitely be worth it. Understand that everyone has differing perceptions, so take the time to perhaps get a second opinion if you can.

Pre-planning is key

The planning stages are where you lay down a solid foundation for excellent wedding photos and video. Location is very important. Does your ceremony site have a nice area for formal shots, ie is the altar area inside the church pretty, and is the background dark or well lit? Is the outside area nice, and is the lighting good? Are there strong bright spots in the area that you want to shoot at the TIME OF DAY you will be shooting? Is the area in deep shade? What you want ideally is light shade with a background that is hope- fully not brighter than where the people are standing. That can be a tall order when your ceremony is outdoors at 1pm, but do your best to make the most out of your location. You don't generally want to situate yourselves with the sun behind your back, that can be disasterous for photos and especially video. There are times when back lighting can be very dramatic, hence the need for professional advice for tricky situations. Are there nice flowering plants that will be in the shots? Red torch ginger is a very beautiful and striking background. Many hotels have nice tall red ginger for that purpose. The green and red goes very well with traditional black and white dress. There are many gorgeous outdoor locations available to you for no charge, and many elegant locations that cost a considerable amount.

Additional Location?

Do you have time to shoot at a scenic location? That is highly recommended. So, if possible, leave enough time in between, before or after your ceremony & reception for a different location with either seascapes or a waterfall or gorgeous foliage and beautiful landscapes The effort is worth it. You might consider shooting pre-nuptial photos so you are not feeling rushed on your wedding day. Hopefully the weather and lighting is nice on the actual day. That is an uncontrollable factor, and hence the value of pre-nuptial photos before the actual day. If the weather is bad on the day of your wedding, it is nice to have an optional backup location that is workable on a rainy day. Arrangements must be made in advance for hotels. If there is no need that day, some hotels will not charge you anything, or charge only a nominal fee for the backup reservation.

Advice on indoor ceremony & reception

Be aware of any restrictions against flash &/or lighting and movement of videographer/photographer if your ceremony is at a church. This is extremely important. Also, if having your reception at a hotel or other formal facility, you should let your emcee know they need to forwarn your videographer whenever he or she is going to launch into the program, or say anything that you want videotaped. Give your photographer and videographer a copy of your program as far in advance as possible. Give them specific instructions in writing, highlighted, on their copy of the program. Ask them if they have questions, and if you make sudden changes, let them know as soon as you can. You need to create a pleasant relationship with both, and you should choose them not only for their work, but also for their "bedside manner", and ability to communicate and articulate.

It is so important to feel completely comfortable, especially with your photographer. This is not a day to leave to chance. Once you have chosen your photographer and videographer, it is advised to relax, and trust them. You need to maintain your own energy level, stay centered and allow it all to happen. Choosing the right people to capture your wedding gives you the freedom to really enjoy a wedding day that is spontaneous and elegant, with the least amount of stress possible.

Deals For Your Groom in Seattle

There is a growing trend in the wedding industry for the groom to be just as involved in the wedding planning as the bride. Nowadays more couples are footing the bill for the wedding themselves.

Bridesclub wedding vendors have started offering incentives to the grooms to book them for their wedding day, for example:

Another option is to book these services, and use the free gift as a wedding gift to your new husband.

Reception Photo Montage

I have been to a lot of weddings over the years, and I've noticed that a lot of them have video's playing at the reception of the couple's baby pictures. I am a real photo person myself and love this touch. I think it gives the reception a more personal feel. The video's can be created by yourself, or by a professional videographer. Some videographers include this when you book them for your wedding.

In your video be sure to include pictures of both of you over the years along with pictures of you as a couple. This gives your guests a look at each of you, and your love story. Music can also be added, make sure to use your favorite songs, or songs that mean something to the two of you.

Whatever you decide to do have fun with it.

Nicole & Keith Finally Married

Nicole_kidman_keith_urban Congrats to Nicole and Keith!

Culminating a week in which their every move and wedding detail was excrutiatingly chronicled in the press, the Bewitched star married country crooner Keith Urban on Sunday at a clifftop Catholic chapel overlooking the harbor near her family's home in Sydney, Australia.

Helicopters buzzed overhead and paparazzi thronged outside the gates to the private estate playing host the nuptials, hoping to catch a glimpse of the bride, groom and such A-list pals as Naomi Watts, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Baz Luhrumann and Rupert Murdoch.

Kidman waved to the crowd as a small fleet of white Rolls Royce shuttled her and the other guests into the compound in the suburb of Manly at 5:30 p.m. local time.

"We just want to thank everyone in Australia and around the world who have sent us their warm wishes," the couple said in a brief statement released with the photo.

The Oscar winner walked down the aisle clad in a pearly lace-and-chiffon Balenciaga creation, complete with veil, clutching a bouquet of white roses

She was given away by her father, Antony, while a quartet from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra played in the background. The traditional, candlelit ceremony lasted a little over an hour and was conducted by longtime family friend Father Paul Coleman and included readings from the Gospel selected by Kidman's mother, Janelle. Kidman's two children from her previous marriage to Cruise, 13-year-old Isabella and 11-year-old Connor, were in the wedding party, which also included her sister, Antonia, and her niece, Lucia.

As church bells signaled the end of the vow-swapping, the newlyweds and their 230 guests celebrated at a reception held under a towering white marquee, decorated with thousands of pink and white roses. Jackman and singer Neil Finn helped to provide the soundtrack for the party.

Rather than bringing gifts, wedding attendees were instead asked to donate to several charities earmarked by the happy couple.

The actress first announced that she and Urban planned to wed last month at the 30th anniversary gala for the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), the organization for which she serves as goodwill ambassador.

"He's actually my fiancé," Kidman told People magazine at the event. "I wouldn't be bringing my boyfriend." Urban's rep later confirmed that the twosome were indeed engaged.

The couple touched down in Sydney on Monday and embarked on a week of celebrations leading up to their wedding.

Kidman celebrated her 39th birthday on Tuesday and attended a low-key bachelorette party on Wednesday. Urban's bachelor party took place on Thursday. In between various events, the twosome enjoyed downtime with family and friends.

Kidman and Urban, 38, met in January 2005 at an awards dinner where they were both being honored by the Australian government. Though neither of them was born in Australia--Kidman was born in Hawaii and Urban was born in New Zealand--both grew up there.

The newlyweds have both distinguished themselves in their respective careers. Kidman won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2002 for The Hours, while Urban won the Grammy for Best Male Country Vocal Performance in 2005 for "You'll Think of Me."
